"The unexamined not worth living" - Socrates

Socrates
I love this quote from Socrates! I think it embodies what philosophy is all about and why it is so valuable. Philosophy is all about constantly questioning and evaluating both the world around you and your inner beliefs. I think this lessens narrow mindedness and helps us gain a deeper understanding of life and ourselves. Ultimately it helps us make better decisions. Of course constantly questioning and examining can also lead to more questions and make us more muddled up than before! Which reminds me of another quote by Socrates, another favourite of mine, "All that I know is that I know nothing". What do you think?
Philosophy for Everyday Life: A Practical Guide - Have A Sneak Peek Inside
This is the little pocket book I was reading from in class. A great little intro to philosophy by Philosophy professor Trevor Curnow
